Isaiah Thomas’ self-confidence is not wavering one bit despite his bum hip.
In an interview at Media Day earlier this week, the Cleveland Cavaliers guard opened up about his recovery and made a rather bold declaration.
“I’ve been around a great staff these last three, four weeks with the Cleveland Clinic and the staff here with the Cleveland Cavaliers,” said the two-time All-Star Thomas, per Ryne Nelson of SLAM Online. “We’ve been hands-on six days a week, taking Sundays off, and we’re getting after it.

“I’m excited because I know soon enough I will be 100 percent and back dropping 30 points a night and helping this team win games,” he added.
For reference, the 28-year-old Thomas scored 28.9 points per game during his career-best year with the Boston Celtics last season. His hip ailment, which is expected to keep him sidelined well into the 2017-18 campaign, is particularly worrisome for a diminutive player who relies so much on athleticism to score. Thomas will also be playing with several high-usage teammates in Cleveland, including LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Derrick Rose, and Kevin Love. But he is never one to set a low bar for himself, and his injury won’t be changing that.
