Ja Morant came into Tuesday’s Grizzlies-Spurs matchup hunting Victor Wembanyama. The predator ended up catching its prey.
Morant saw an opportunity early in the fourth quarter at FedExForum in Memphis, Tenn. Wembanyama got switched onto the shifty guard on a pick and roll.
The 2-time All-Star hit Wemby with a nasty right-to-left crossover. The Iverson-esque move gave Morant enough time to rise up for a two-handed slam that gave the Grizzlies an 88-70 lead.

It was clear from the opening minute of Tuesday’s game that Morant was going to attack Wembanyama. The Frenchman swatted the Grizzlies star’s layup to start the first quarter.
The early futility against Wemby might have fueled Morant rather than deter him throughout the game.

Morant finished the night with 26 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists, and 1 additional crown jewel for his future highlight reels.
