Report: Jamal Murray benched by Nuggets for tardiness
Jamal Murray was benched for the start of Denver’s game against Atlanta on Thursday night, and now we know why.
Murray was disciplined for a small violation of team rules. The Denver Post’s Mike Singer says Murray was late to a team shootaround, which is why Monte Morris started in his place.

Murray ended up playing 23 minutes compared to Morris’ 29 in the Nuggets’ 138-93 win over the Hawks.
The benching comes 10 days after Murray’s big 48-point game.
Whether it’s Draymond Green being suspended or Murray being benched, everyone’s using the Hawks as a time to discipline their players without fear of losing.
