Jaylen Brown clearly is not a fan of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s capers.
Brown and the Boston Celtics faced off on Thursday night against Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder. In the third quarter at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, Okla., Gilgeous-Alexander drove to the basket and successfully drew a foul on Boston’s Luka Garza.
The five-time All-Star Brown was not pleased about how Gilgeous-Alexander seemingly initiated all the contact with the defender on the play. The NBC national television broadcast caught Brown on a hot mic loudly yelling, “That’s not basketball!”

Gilgeous-Alexander went on to score a game-high 35 points (albeit on a modest 7/8 from the foul line). That helped the Thunder squeak out a close 104-102 victory over the Celtics.
The reigning NBA MVP Gilgeous-Alexander is widely considered to be the best “foul-baiter” in the league and has incensed numerous opponents this season with his tendency to draw seemingly cheap whistles. The latest one to get annoyed this week was Brown, who has been vocal lately with his frustrations about the officiating during Boston’s other games as well.
