Jaylen Brown was not selected for this year’s NBA All-Star Game, and he thinks that was a mistake by the league and fans.
Brown shared a meme on his Instagram Story on Wednesday. The meme showed Kanye West holding up a legal pad, which Kanye did to prove his social media account was not hacked. But Brown’s photo changed the wording on the pad to say “Jaylen Brown should be an all star.”
Brown is averaging 23.6 points per game this season, but that is second on his own team behind Jayson Tatum, who made the All-Star team.
Despite posting the meme, Brown tried to downplay things after Wednesday night’s Celtics 112-111 loss to Detroit.
“Obviously I think I deserve it. But, that’s life. It is what it is. It ain’t going to stop me,” Brown said.
Maybe the Celtics deserve to have two All-Stars this season. But the team was mostly around .500 for the season until recently. Boston went on a 9-game winning streak that may have strengthened Brown’s All-Star case. The winning streak may have just come too late.
Still, you have to enjoy the meme he shared to support his case.
