Jimmy Butler had Golden State Warriors fans fired up on Tuesday in more ways than one.
Butler activated playoff mode during the Warriors play-in tournament game against the Memphis Grizzlies at Chase Center in San Francisco, Calif. The 6-time All-Star erupted for 21 first-half points to help the Warriors get out to a huge lead. Then Butler let Steph Curry take control in the second half.
Curry scored the Warriors’ final 10 points to lead Golden State to a 121-116 victory.

After the game, Butler compared his tandem with Curry to that of Batman and Robin. After serving as Batman for the Miami Heat for several years, Butler was more than willing to admit that he’s the Robin on the Warriors.
“I think any team has a chance when I’m on the team,” said Butler. “But I know every team has a chance when Steph’s on the team. So, I get to play Robin. That’s my Batman. … We’ve got all the villains over there. Two Face, and Joker, and Riddler, everybody else in the Western Conference. But we’ve got a lot of games to win.”

Based on how the game shaped up, the Warriors looked like they had two Batmans in Butler and Curry. Jimmy Buckets led all scorers with 38 points on 12/20 shooting, while Curry was not far behind with 37 points and 6 three-pointers.
Golden State’s win secured them the seventh seed in the Western Conference. The Warriors may be the lower seed in their first-round series against a talented Houston Rockets squad. But Golden State arguably has the two best players in the series.
