Joel Embiid had a profane message for teammate JJ Redick for getting him sick.
Redick missed two games last week due to illness and apparently passed it along to Embiid. Though Embiid did not miss any games, he was not at full strength on Friday and shot just 4/17. He said before Sunday’s win over the Los Angeles Lakers that Redick got him sick.
“He definitely got me sick,” Embiid said of Redick.
Redick said that he woke up to a text he received from Embiid at 3:00 a.m. saying “f— you.”
Embiid says that he was so happy to see Redick when the guard returned from his illness that he gave him a hug and shook his hand. The big man said the next day he was throwing up.
Embiid says he’s still not at full strength, but he is feeling better. He sure played like it — he went for 37 points and 14 rebounds in the 143-120 win.
