If John Calipari does come to the NBA, it doesn’t sound like it will be with the Brooklyn Nets.
Bleacher Report’s Howard Beck reported on Friday that Nets ownership is not seriously considering Calipari as part of their coaching search.

Beck also notes that the team’s reported interest in Tom Thibodeau is real, though they intend to hire a general manager before they name a coach and Thibodeau could likely get a better opportunity elsewhere if he elects to wait. They’ve reportedly had interest in Bryan Colangelo for the GM position.
It was previously reported that the team’s CEO Brett Yormark would make a big push for Calipari, but it sounds like ownership is steering this search and are looking in a different direction. With Calipari’s reported financial demands, it’s easy to understand why.
