Karl-Anthony Towns placed in concussion protocol after car accident
The Minnesota Timberwolves will be without center Karl-Anthony Towns after he was involved in a car accident.
On Friday, Timberwolves coach Ryan Saunders said Towns had gotten in a car accident on the way to the airport Thursday night. He was initially considered questionable, but ultimately ruled out for Friday’s game against the New York Knicks as he entered concussion protocol.

While there are no details available on the accident, the fact that there’s concern about a concussion indicates it wasn’t just a minor fender-bender. Towns should likely be considered day-to-day at this point as he’s evaluated and the status of his head gets checked out, but it seems unlikely that he’ll miss a significant amount of time.
