The Minnesota Timberwolves may be without Karl-Anthony Towns in their first game back from the All-Star break on Friday, as the big man was involved in a car accident the day prior.
Timberwolves coach Ryan Saunders told reporters Towns got into a car accident on his way to the airport on Thursday but was able to take a commercial flight to New York later that night. He is listed as questionable to face the Knicks, and the Timberwolves are monitoring him.
Coach Saunders told the media this morning that Karl-Anthony Towns was involved in a car accident yesterday on the way to the airport. He flew into New York last night and was excused from shootaround this morning to rest at the hotel. He is listed as questionable for tonight.

Fortunately, it does not sound like Towns suffered any type of serious injury. The former No. 1 overall pick is averaging 23.1 points, 12.0 rebounds and a career-high 1.8 blocks per game this season. He has also been responsible for some dramatic moments that have kept Minnesota in the playoff hunt.
Even if Towns misses Thursday night’s game, he likely is not looking at a lengthy absence.
