Russell Westbrook has been mocked by NBA fans all season, but few have trolled him as savagely as Karl-Anthony Towns did on Wednesday night.
Westbrook airballed a three-point attempt from the corner during the Los Angeles Lakers’ latest loss — a 124-104 thumping at the hands of the Minnesota Timberwolves. The ball sailed right into Towns’ hands, and the big man casually handed it to a teammate. He then taunted Westbrook by staring into the air with a confused look as if to say, “Where on earth was that thing going?” Check it out:

Westbrook was asked after the game about opponents talking trash to him, and he insisted he is not bothered. You can see his response at around the 1:10 mark below:

That is hard to believe. Westbrook has already admitted he feels strongly about the new nickname people have been taunting him with. We doubt he appreciates Towns making him look bad like that.
Of course, the only for Westbrook to get people off his back is to start hitting shots. He went just 5-of-12 from the field against the T-Wolves and 1-of-4 from three-point range. If you want to know how bad he has been over the past few months, look no further than this embarrassing stat.
