Kawhi Leonard had perfect wardrobe choice for Raptors parade
Kawhi Leonard chose the perfect shirt to wear as he and his Toronto Raptors teammates celebrated their championship with hundreds of thousands of fans on Monday.
Leonard, who has seemed to open up quite a bit now that he has accomplished his goal, wore a simple T-shirt during the parade that said “Board Man Gets Paid” across the front.

That phrase is one that Leonard coined while he was playing at San Diego State, but it became popular after Jayson Jenks of The Athletic spoke with several of his college coaches and teammates about it. It was basically Leonard’s way of saying he is going to fight for rebounds and make the plays that are less flashy, because those are the ones that make a real impact.
Leonard gave his own explanation for what “board man gets paid” means during the NBA Finals, and it made him even easier to root for. It’s actually surprising that it took this long for the phrase to become part of his brand.
