Kevin Garnett Called ‘Punk and a Coward’ by Anonymous Player

Hate for Kevin Garnett from opposing players? He’s been beat up for being a dirty player so many times this year it’s almost lost it’s appeal. Almost.

Red’s Army called our attention to ESPN the Magazine’s Player X feature where the anonymous player writing for the magazine takes aim at KG. What else is new?

The anonymous player writes “Garnett is a punk and a coward. I know, I know. Easy for me to say behind this column. Don’t worry, I’ll tell him to his face, too. And I’m not the only one who thinks that: If you’re not on his team, chances are you hate the guy.”

That’s very true — we often hear that sentiment about passionate players. With players like KG, you love him if he’s on your team but hate him if he’s not. This anonymous player adds that if you stand up to KG and stare him down, or if you’re bigger than him, then he’s going to back down. I don’t know if that’s true, but I’d sure like to see it happen. I’m sick of KG talking and I’m sure many other people are as well.

Let’s look at his history:

    – Making Andray Blatche cry
    – Calling Charlie Villanueva a cancer patient
    – Cussing out Spike Lee
    – Making teammate Big Baby cry
    – Actually denying he is dirty

KG certainly is a punk, I’m not sure if he’s a coward, and there’s no doubt his trash talk gives him a competitive advantage on the floor. Even the anonymous player recognized that. Thanks to our man Sugar Shane for sharing the story.
