Kings owner admits George Karl tried to trade DeMarcus Cousins
Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadive confirmed what we already knew: George Karl and DeMarcus Cousins really, really didn’t get along.
Ranadive told USA Today’s Sam Amick in an interview that Karl, coach of the Kings at the time, spent the summer of 2015 trying to ship Cousins out the door.
“You know, look, George had tried to trade Cousins that whole summer, and there was not a lot of love between those two, and so there was tension there,” Ranadive told Amick.
We all knew this. It was widely reported at the time. Frankly, the only surprise at this point is how Karl and Cousins survived an entire season together without trying to beat each other up. Perhaps they did and we just don’t know about it.
