Though the DeMarcus Cousins trade rumors will not go away, it doesn’t sound like the Sacramento Kings will be acting on them as long as owner Vivek Ranadive has his way.
Speaking to CSN New England, Jackie MacMullan said that Ranadive does not want to trade Cousins, and that any rumors about deals are just that.
“I asked about Cousins just recently again, and Vivek Ranadive, the owner of the Sacramento Kings, does not want to trade DeMarcus Cousins. And so as long as that’s the case, all this talk is just that. It’s talk,” MacMullan said.
Cousins has factored in trade rumors for years, and sometimes it was legitimate. In fact, there’s an argument to be made that the primary reason he’s still with the team is because of Ranadive putting his foot down. The owner seems determined to make things work with Cousins as his centerpiece, and given the center’s skills, it does make sense.
