Report: Knicks like Duke prospect Cam Reddish

Cam Reddish

The New York Knicks are going to be big players in the June NBA Draft and apparently have at least one prospect they like.

SNY’s Ian Begley reported on Tuesday that some talent evaluators within the Knicks like Cam Reddish. Reddish was one of the three hyped freshmen on Duke’s team last season, along with Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett.

A 6-foot-8 forward from Pennsylvania, Reddish averaged 13.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game last season. His shooting was his biggest weakness as he only made 35.6 percent of his field goals and just 33.3 percent of his threes. Despite his shooting struggles, Begley says the Knicks believe Reddish’s game will translate well in the NBA.

The Knicks finished with the worst record in the league during the regular season and will have a 14 percent chance of winning the top pick in the lottery, which would allow them to take Williamson, who seems open to joining the franchise. There is also a possibility that they end up picking outside the top three, which is why having opinions on players who would likely be available in those slots is important.

Though some may dismiss this report, one would be wise not to do so. The last time there was a lot of talk about the Knicks liking a player, they ended up taking him.
