Knicks to meet with David Blatt, James Borrego about coaching vacancy

David Blatt Cavs

The New York Knicks are making some progress in their head coaching search.

The Knicks plan to meet with former Cleveland Cavaliers coach David Blatt next week. They also plan to meet with San Antonio Spurs assistant James Borrego, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Ian Begley.

The Knicks are in the market for a new coach after firing Jeff Hornacek following two seasons on the job. They have had 10 coaches (including interims) since Jeff Van Gundy was let go and could use some stability.

Blatt returned to Europe after losing his job with the Cavs midway through his second season with the team. Borrego is in his second stint as an assistant with the Spurs.
