Kobe denies he turned off Dwight Howard from Lakers
There was a report a few weeks ago stating that Kobe Bryant deterred Dwight Howard from having interest in joining the Lakers by telling him the Lakers were still his team. The report matched what we had heard through our sources, and further reports said Dwight wouldn’t sign an extension with the Lakers if they traded for him. Kobe has responded to the report and denied that was the case.
“I’m not getting mixed up in this kiddy drama s***, bro. too old for that s***” he told the New York Post over email.
“It’s not true,” Kobe said of the report.
I don’t know what else we would expect Kobe to say. What, would he really tell us that he told Howard he was third in line and that turned Dwight off from LA? We know Kobe said that about Andrew Bynum last year, so I wouldn’t doubt it at all if he said something similar to Dwight. It’s clear the writer of the Post article was trying to kiss Kobe’s butt, so we should hardly put any stock into his article.
