The drama within the New York Knicks organization just got an extra layer.
Amid controversial comments by Phil Jackson towards Carmelo Anthony on Friday, Kristaps Porzingis may have taken the side of his teammate.
While speaking with the media on Friday, Jackson said he thought Anthony might be better off with another team where he can better pursue a championship.
Not long after Jackson’s comments went viral, Anthony seemed to respond with this Instagram post.
So what’s the extra layer? Porzingis, who is the new franchise player for the Knicks, showed his support with a “like” of Anthony’s post on Instagram.

Porzingis is expected to be the centerpiece of the Knicks for years to come. If there is any hint that he has a lack of trust in the front office — which some could say this social media activity suggests — it could cause some concern for the NBA franchise.
Knowing Jackson, we might end up seeing him raise the ante with a response of his own on social media.
