The Philadelphia 76ers sound like they’re aiming high in free agency this summer, and they might just find an interested party.
According to Keith Pompey of Philly.com, point guard Kyle Lowry has interest in playing for the Sixers. A native of North Philly, Lowry is close with Sixers president Bryan Colangelo, who acquired him with the Houston Rockets.
The interest is reportedly mutual, as sources indicate that Philadelphia is willing to offer Lowry a lucrative deal this summer after he officially opts out of his deal with the Toronto Raptors.
Going to the Sixers — a team on the rise, but still far away from championship contention — wouldn’t quite align with Lowry’s stated career goals. It’s still something to keep an eye on, though.
