Kyle Lowry spent some of his weekend in a place that brought him lots of great memories.
Now playing for the Philadelphia 76ers, Lowry returned to his old stomping grounds for a Sunday matchup against his former team, the Toronto Raptors, at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario.
While no longer the player he used to be during his prime, Lowry will always get people’s attention whenever he finds himself north of the border, and that was the case anew for the meeting with the Raptors.
Before the game, the 39-year-old Lowry turned heads when he showed up at the arena paying homage to Toronto Maple Leafs superstar forward Auston Matthews.
Still reppin' the North 🙌

Lowry is a Philly native, but his basketball heart belongs in Toronto, where he played from the 2012-13 season to the 2020-21 campaign. He earned all his six NBA All-Star nods while with the Raptors and achieved his greatest NBA success in 2019, when he helped the only Canadian franchise in the league win its first NBA championship. That title quenched Toronto’s thirst for a league title that Matthews and the Maple Leafs are still trying to attain in the NHL.
As for the game, Lowry did not log a minute in the 76ers’ 116-115 loss via overtime to Toronto.
