Kyrie Irving heard the chants from New York Knights fans on Friday night, but he’s not making much of them.
Irving helped his Boston Celtics to a 113-99 road win over the Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Knicks fans chanted “We Want Kyrie!” during the second half of the game — a reference to their desire for the Knicks to sign the point guard over the summer.
Irving was asked about the chants after the game and called it a “distraction.”
Kyrie said he’s appreciative of the cheers from Knicks fans but adds “it’s nothing but a distraction at this point.”

Irving also called a lot of the trade talk a bunch of “nonsense” to him.
Will winning ultimately quiet down the distractions?#Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving:

Irving said before the season that he would re-sign with Boston. He has the opportunity to become a free agent after the season and the Knicks are a team expected to heavily pursue him.
