Report: Lakers, Celtics among contenders interested in Davis Bertans trade
Davis Bertans figures to be a wanted man ahead of the Feb. 6 trade deadline.
Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington reported on Monday that the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics are among the teams emerging as suitors for the Washington Wizards sharpshooter. Hughes also has the Philadelphia 76ers and the Denver Nuggets as other interested contenders.
The 6-foot-10 Bertans has been one of the best-kept secrets in the league. Though currently out with a right quad injury, Bertans is a human torch from deep, hitting 3.8 threes per game this season at an elite 43.4 percent clip.
The Latvian is also an expiring contract on a sub-.500 team, making him a prime trade candidate. It’s especially so with at least one of those above teams making headlines this week for their exploration of the trade market.
