Lamar Odom arrested for DUI
Just when we thought it could not get any worse for Lamar Odom, he goes out and gets arrested for driving while under the influence. As TMZ first reported, Odom was popped for DUI while cruising around the San Fernando Valley at 3:54 a.m. on Friday morning. He was arrested by the California Highway Patrol and taken to Van Nuys Community Police Station, where he was held on $15,000 bail.
According to the police report, Odom was pulled over on the freeway for driving too slow when an officer noticed him going about 50 mph in a “serpentine manner.” He allegedly ignored the police at first and drove 3 more exits before pulling over. The report states that Odom “showed objective signs of intoxication and was unable to perform field sobriety tests.”
We would like to think Odom has hit rock bottom at this point. The DUI comes at the tail end of a whirlwind week that brought us reports about the NBA veteran abusing prescription drugs and even dealing with a crack addiction. On Thursday, a separate report indicated that the Los Angeles Lakers are willing to offer Odom a roster spot if he completes a rehabilitation course. Assuming that report is true, you have to wonder if his DUI arrest will affect the offer.
