Lamar Odom is ‘confused,’ doesn’t know drugs caused brain injury
Lamar Odom is very fortunate to have survived the drug overdose that landed him in intensive care last month, but the former NBA star still has a long road to recovery.
In a recent appearance on “Ellen,” Khloe Kardashian confirmed that Odom has suffered brain damage as a result of several strokes. While Odom has been told about the brain injury, Kardashian says he is often “confused” and has not been told how it happened.
“We tell him he had a brain injury. I can’t tell him how that brain injury was caused because it will set him back,” she explained. “He’s never asked why he’s here. He’s really confused a lot, so we have to remind him.
“Every day is different. Sometimes he knows who the president is or his birthday. Other times he thinks he’s 26.”
Khloe added that Odom has been learning how to walk again, feed himself and put sentences together, which gives you an idea of how serious his condition was.
Kardashian also confirmed that she is still dating this NBA star, describing herself as a “polygamist” who has a husband and a boyfriend at the moment.
Odom will have to undergo several months of physical and speech rehabilitation, and it’s unclear if he will ever be the same again. We certainly hope he makes a full recovery.
