Lamar Odom reportedly opened his eyes, communicated briefly

Lamar-Odom

There are still conflicting reports floating around about the health condition of Lamar Odom, but many of them are starting to provide hope that the former NBA star may be able to pull through.

TMZ reported Friday morning that Odom’s heart was beginning to show signs of responsiveness. That good news was soon followed by another positive update, as Entertainment Tonight reports that Odom opened his eyes and may have communicated a “yes” message when asked if he would like to see his children.

Daniel Artest, the brother of NBA player and former Odom teammate Metta World Peace, sent a few tweets claiming Odom has been showing signs of responsiveness.

What I can say is. He did open his eyes, tried to bite the tube out his throat. He squeezed his wife hand and others as well.

From how I see it. LO is more ICU than life support. Still critical but stable. Keep on praying for LO.

Other networks have cited sources who say Odom has gotten a “tiny” bit better and was only responsive for a brief moment in the middle of the night.

It’s impossible to know exactly what is going on without hearing from a doctor. What is clear is that Odom is on life support and still has a long way to go, and there has been concern that he may have suffered brain damage as a result of drug use. The 911 call from Odom’s medical emergency, which you can listen to here, was extremely frightening.
