Report: Larry Drew will remain Cavs coach for season
The Cleveland Cavaliers have reached a rather unusual agreement with interim coach Larry Drew.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Drew will remain the coach for the rest of the season and will even have some security for next year after the two sides negotiated an agreement.

Drew will be the head coach for rest of this season and has an agreement for 2019-20 if Cavs choose to keep him — or will get a buyout payment should team decide to move on to a new coach, sources said. https://t.co/Jseeh7U20U

It’s a bit of an odd request to make when you’re put in an interim job, but Drew was ready to raise a ruckus publicly over his contract status after being elevated to the interim role. The Cavs have gone through their fair share of head coaches both with and without LeBron James, and he wants some security, even if it’s just of the financial variety.
