LeBron James denied trademark for ‘Taco Tuesday’

LeBron James

LeBron James has been denied his trademark application for the phrase “Taco Tuesday,” signifying that there is justice in the world.

James began making a huge “Taco Tuesday” push on social media this summer and then moved to turn it into a business interest by filing to trademark the term. However, the US Patent and Trademark Office denied the application saying that “Taco Tuesday” cannot function as a trademark because it is a commonplace message.

In other words, the USPTO determined that “Taco Tuesday” belongs to the people, not LeBron. That’s the way it should be.

Taco Tuesday has been way longer than since LeBron began using it a few months ago. I was going out to Taco Tuesday specials at restaurants before LeBron even entered the NBA.

So much for all his big business plans for it. He still has his T-shirts though.
