James is expected to undergo an MRI on his groin nonetheless to see the extent of his injury. He is considered day-to-day, according to reporter Dave McMenamin.
James tweaked his groin while trying to chase a ball he had lost on an offensive possession in the third quarter. He was seen saying he “felt a pop,” which instantly led to concerns that the injury was serious.
James’ streak of 156 straight games including the playoffs could be in jeopardy. The Lakers’ next game will be on Thursday night at Sacramento.
