LeBron James took to social media on Monday to tease some sort of announcement, and the post caused an almost immediate surge in ticket prices for one Los Angeles Lakers game.
LeBron shared a 10-second video on X that shows him walking onto a basketball court to sit down for what appears to be some sort of interview. The brief clip was a promo for something called “The Second Decision.”

The original version of “The Decision” was a one-hour television special in 2010 during which James announced that he was signing with the Miami Heat. The entire situation was widely considered to be a public relations disaster, which is why it seems unlikely that LeBron would share major career news in the exact same manner again.
With LeBron turning 41 in December, many people began speculating that “The Second Decision” will be when James announces that the 2025-26 season will be his last. That theory led to a sharp increase in ticket prices for the Lakers’ final regular-season home game of the upcoming season, which will be on April 12 against the Utah Jazz.

Ticket prices for the Lakers’ final home game of 2025-26 were similar on Ticketmaster, with the cheapest tickets going for around $600 each as of Monday evening.
James has not committed to playing beyond the upcoming season. That does not mean his teaser for “The Second Decision” has anything to do with basketball, of course.
Amazon’s October Prime Day begins on Tuesday, so there is a strong chance LeBron’s cryptic social media video has something do with that. Remember, James filmed an ad spot for Prime Day in July that included a reference to his retirement.
If LeBron does not make any announcements about his playing future on Tuesday, the ticket market will likely adjust in a hurry.
