LeBron James talking about title contention after sweeping Raptors

LeBron James

A dominant four-game sweep of the No. 1-seeded Toronto Raptors has done just the trick for The King’s confidence.

The Cleveland Cavaliers eliminated the Toronto Raptors with a blowout win in Game 4 of their second-round series on Monday. After the game, Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com noted that LeBron James mentioned competing for a title, something he couldn’t remember the last time that the four-time MVP did.

It’s a remarkable turnaround from just weeks, if not days ago when many were calling this James’ weakest supporting cast in years. After all, the Cavs blew up their team less than three months ago at the trade deadline, stumbled to the No. 4 seed in their conference during the regular season, and needed seven games in the first round to dispatch of a ragtag Indiana Pacers team.

Now Cleveland has done away with a deep and balanced Raptors side that won 59 games in the regular season, making them the first team in the NBA to clinch a conference finals berth this season. That’s trouble for the rest of the league, especially now that it sounds like James’ confidence level has caught up with his ridiculous level of play on the court this postseason.
