Report: Man arrested for threatening to kill Adam Silver for not letting him play in NBA

Adam Silver

A man was arrested on Friday for sending a threatening email to NBA commissioner Adam Silver, and the threat apparently stemmed from Silver’s unwillingness to let the 27-year-old join a team’s roster.

The New York Post reports that David Pyant of Queens was arrested Friday after he sent an email to Silver threatening to “come up there and kill you with my f—ing gun.” While the initial report did not specify what the threat was over, police sources told TMZ Pyant was demanding that Silver let him play in the NBA.

“If you don’t let me play, I’m going to come up there and kill you with my f—ing gun,” Pyant allegedly wrote.

Pyant has 13 prior arrests and has served prison time for robbery.

Believe it or not, this is the second time in a matter of weeks someone has gotten into legal trouble for demanding to be on a pro sports roster. We saw a similar situation when a man’s home was raided last month over a threat he directed at the Dallas Cowboys.
