Mark Cuban not ruling out 2020 presidential run

Mark Cuban

Mark Cuban might just have the best idea for how to keep oneself preoccupied during quarantine: run for president.

Speaking at an Axios virtual event on Friday, the Dallas Mavericks owner said that he was not ruling out a bid for president this year.

“Everything’s a reset right now,” said Cuban. “If this would have been a month ago, I would have said absolutely not. But obviously things are crazy, things are changing. So I’ll keep an open mind. But I seriously doubt it.

“It’s plausible, it’s definitely doable,” Cuban added. “It’s just a question: ‘Should you do it?’ That’s what I don’t know.”

While the 61-year-old Cuban may be a little too late to enter the race this year with most primaries having already been completed, a foray into politics is not too implausible for him. Cuban has been an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump and once offered Trump a lot of money to talk policy with him.

The multibillionaire has also been performing some public services recently, so the current coronavirus situation might actually be giving Cuban the springboard that he needs to further his political aspirations.
