Markelle Fultz open to playing for Knicks, thinks he can succeed in triangle offense
Star freshman guard Markelle Fultz is doing his best to keep an open mind ahead of the NBA draft next June.
Fultz, who was sitting courtside at Madison Square Garden for the New York Knicks’ 110-97 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday, said he would welcome the opportunity to be a Knick and thinks he could succeed in the triangle offense, per Ian Begley of ESPN.

While this may merely be a case of a top prospect saying all the right things before the draft, it’s still a welcome perspective after all the triangle criticisms we’ve heard from Knicks players this season as well as years past when guard draftees would express doubts about their potential fit in the triangle.
Fultz is likely to be selected at the top of the lottery, perhaps even with the No. 1 overall pick. The Knicks only have the sixth-best lottery odds at the moment, but we’ve definitely seen crazier things happen in the past.
