Matt Bonner, Brian Scalabrine face off in game of knockout (Video)
Alien vs. Predator. Spy vs. Spy. Rodman vs. Malone. Leno vs. Conan. Ali vs. Frazier. Seinfeld vs. Newman. Clemens vs. Piazza. Slash vs. Axl. Now it’s time to add one more to the list of great historical grudge matches: The Red Mamba vs. The White Mamba.
On Wednesday, Matt Bonner and Brian Scalabrine battled for cult hero hegemony in the only way possible: by hitting the playground for a decisive game of knockout.
Campers at the Seeds of Peace camp were treated to an instant classic as two living legends duked it out, while Bonner’s brother, Luke, captured the glorious showdown on video.

In the end, it was The Red Mamba who achieved ultimate immortality by downing his cognomen competitor with a back-breaking final three.

For Bonner, who returns to a stacked Spurs team next season, and Scalabrine, who looks poised for a bigger role as an assistant on the Warriors staff after helping lead the team to the title, it was a great way to stay competitive in the offseason. Not to mention a great way to serve as the be-all and end-all for future barbershop debates over who reigns supreme atop the Mamba throne.
Sorry Kobe. This is the real Mamba mentality.
