Mavericks’ JumboTron operator made big mistake during loss to Celtics
The person working the JumboTron at American Airlines Center during Monday’s game seemed to have a real out-of-body experience.
The Dallas Mavericks lost on Monday night to the NBA-best Boston Celtics by a 119-110 final. One of the game’s big highlights came on the Celtics’ end when Jaylen Brown turned Luka Doncic’s ankles into sour cream. Brown dropped the Mavs star Doncic in the second quarter with a nasty right-to-left pullback move and splashed the elbow jumper too for good measure.

Among those apparently impressed by the ankle-breaker was the Mavs’ own JumboTron operator, who showed the highlight on the big screen. In doing so, the operator reportedly got yelled at by Dallas players Tim Hardaway Jr. and Markieff Morris.
“Are we home or are we away?” said Hardaway angrily, according to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe.
The highlight was definitely worth repeating … just not in the Mavs’ home arena in front of their own fans. It is unclear if the operator just got caught up in the moment, but it will go down as a funny mistake regardless.
Not a lot is going right in Dallas at the moment. The Mavs have lost four of their last six games to fall to eighth in the West at 24-19. This isn’t the first time either this season that Dallas has experienced an in-arena hiccup.
