Michael Porter Jr. thinks that his former team is feeling some seller’s remorse right now.
The Denver Nuggets were eliminated from playoff contention this week with a six-game loss in the first round to the Minnesota Timberwolves. It marked the first time that the Nuggets had bowed out in Round 1 since 2022.
Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets forward Porter appeared this week in a YouTube feature with popular streamer N3on. During the episode, Porter was asked about his former team the Nuggets and proceeded to get a shot in.
“Shouldn’t have traded me, man,” said Porter, adding that he thought Denver would have won if they still had him on the roster.

Porter was a mainstay in Denver from 2018-25 and was a key member of multiple deep playoff runs, including the Nuggets’ 2023 NBA championship victory. But Denver decided last summer to trade him to the Nets as part of a package that brought back fellow forward Cameron Johnson.
The former lottery pick Johnson, 30, did not pan out quite like the Nuggets had hoped, missing 28 games due to injury this season and posting modest overall averages of 12.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. As for Porter, 27, he had a career year on the rebuilding Nets, averaging 24.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists a game.
Porter’s streaky shooting and inconsistent basketball IQ did get Denver into trouble at times during his stint there. But Porter obviously feels that he could have made a difference for the Nuggets this season and also made more salty comments about being traded by Denver a couple of months ago.
