Mitchell Robinson shares heartbreaking message about latest injury
Mitchell Robinson has battled numerous injuries throughout his career, and the New York Knicks center shared a heartbreaking message about the latest this week.
Robinson suffered an ankle injury earlier this month. The Knicks initially said on Dec. 11 that he would undergo surgery and be re-evaluated in 8-10 weeks. A report then surfaced on Wednesday that New York has filed for a disabled player exception with the expectation that Robinson will miss the rest of the season.
Robinson all but confirmed that report with a heartbreaking message he shared on social media Thursday.
“I just don’t get it… I do everything I’m asked when it comes to my body and this s— still happens like wtf. Another year another disappointment,” Robinson wrote (edited by LBS for profanity).
Gotta feel bad for Mitchell Robinson 😕

Robinson was limited to 59 games last season due to a few different ailments. He also dealt with hip issues and a fractured hand a few years ago. The ankle injury is his most significant to date.
The news obviously could not be much worse for Robinson, so his disappointment is understandable. As for the Knicks, they recently added a frontcourt veteran and will likely target another big man now that the 7-foot Robinson is not coming back this season.
