Mitchell Robinson must have fallen victim to a sudden indoor breeze on Wednesday night.
The New York Knicks big man Robinson produced one of the lowlights of the year during Game 2 of his team’s second-round playoff series against the Boston Celtics at TD Garden in Boston, Mass. Robinson was at the free throw line during the fourth quarter and fired up an all-time atrocity of an airball.

Nothing went right for Robinson there. The shot arc, distance, and accuracy were all horribly amiss. It is like he had all attributes set to zero on that free throw.
The Celtics have been purposefully been putting Robinson at the free throw line in this series against the Knicks, intentionally fouling him as part of a “Hack-A-Robinson” strategy. The seven-foot center Robinson is a career 52.5 percent free throw shooter and is now down to 27.3 percent for the series, so the gambit by the Celtics is obviously a sound one.
Nevertheless, Robinson (who finished with eight points, six rebounds, and three steals as a game-high +19 in his 22 minutes off the bench) and the Knicks ended up with the last laugh in the end. They rallied from a 20-point second-half deficit and stole the victory from the Celtics in the final seconds, stunningly taking both games on Boston’s home floor to begin the series. The two teams will next meet in New York during Game 3 on Saturday.
