Report: Some NBA executives believe Carmelo Anthony won’t play again
Carmelo Anthony’s NBA future remains murky, and some executives think he has none.
ESPN’s Brian Windhorst said several NBA executives believe that, primarily due to his lack of defense, Anthony has already played his final NBA game and will not be able to find a new team willing to take him on.
Team execs have told @WindhorstESPN Carmelo Anthony has likely played his last NBA game, but what about the teams whose primary interest isn't, um, well, winning right now? Melo is a popular locker room guy, fan fave & if his defense is lacking, maybe a front office won't mind? pic.twitter.com/PIRNCzB1K1

Windhorst himself was skeptical, but admitted it will take the right set of circumstances for Anthony to land with a new team.
Previous reporting indicated that Anthony may not find any suitors until after the trade deadline, when needs become more clear. The general consensus is it will be a while before we see him again no matter what.
