The NBA world was devastated watching Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton go down with an Achilles injury in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.

Haliburton suffered a non-contact injury midway through the first half of Sunday’s do-or-die game inside Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, Okla. Haliburton had to be helped to the locker room due to what was later reported to be an Achilles injury.

Tyrese’s NBA peers felt his pain. Many of them either expressed deep regret or offered well wishes to Haliburton in his recovery.

Haliburton started Game 7 strong with three triples for nine points in the first quarter before succumbing to the injury.

The Pacers star has carried a huge load for Indiana throughout their NBA Finals run. Haliburton entered Sunday leading the Pacers in playoff minutes per game at 34.8. But that number hardly tells the whole story of what the All-Star guard does for his team.

Haliburton serves as the quarterback for the Pacers’ offense, which operates at a breakneck pace. The burden finally took its toll on him in Game 7.
