Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards had a very animated way of celebrating his team’s win over the Phoenix Suns on Friday night, and a new angle of the stunt shows just how much effort he put into it.
The Timberwolves took a commanding 3-0 series lead over the Suns with a dominant 126-109 win at Footprint Center in Phoenix, Ariz. With Minnesota leading by 19 late in the fourth quarter, Edwards decided to bust out one of the most exaggerated D-Generation X crotch chops you will ever seen on an NBA court.

Edwards was asked during his postgame press conference about the gesture. A reporter wondered if the two-time All-Star is a big fan of late-90s wrestling, as that is when gestures like the DX crotch chop were at their peak of popularity. Edwards said he was just having some fun and trying to get teammate Rudy Gobert to do it with him.

Joel Embiid has been fined in the past for making a similar celebratory gesture, so Edwards can expect the same. The fine will probably be a lot easier to pay if the T-Wolves complete the sweep.
