The New York Knicks may have to prepare for life indefinitely without OG Anunoby.

Speaking Friday on ESPN, Adrian Wojnarowski shared an update on the injured Knicks forward Anunoby, who suffered a left hamstring strain in Game 2 on Wednesday. Wojnarowski said that Anunoby, who was already ruled out for Game 3 in Indiana on Friday, will also miss Game 4 of the series on Sunday. Anunoby could “possibly” even be out beyond that, Wojnarowski adds.

Precious Achiuwa entered the starting five on Friday in Anunoby’s absence while Jericho Sims and Alec Burks picked up minutes off the bench in more creative lineup combinations.

For Anunoby, an efficient secondary scorer as well as the Knicks’ top overall defender, he figures to have an uphill climb to even play at all for the rest of the Pacers series. Hamstring strains are often multi-week injuries, and even if the series goes the distance, Game 7 would be on May 19 (just 11 days after Anunoby was originally injured). The Knicks have had a real next-man-up mentality throughout the postseason though, which is commendable given how many injury gut-punches they have already suffered.
