The New York Knicks will likely be without center Mitchell Robinson for the rest of the postseason.
Robinson sustained a stress injury to his left ankle and will be re-evaluated in six to eight weeks, the Knicks announced on X Tuesday.
Robinson played 12 minutes before sitting out the Knicks’ Monday win over the Indiana Pacers in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference semifinals series.

Barring an early recovery, Robinson would be unlikely to return in time even if the Knicks end up making the NBA Finals. Games 6 of the NBA Finals is scheduled for June 20, just past the six-week mark of Robinson’s recovery timeline.
Robinson underwent midseason surgery on the same ankle in December. He ended up missing 50 games and at one point was a candidate to be shut down for the season. Robinson shared a heartbreaking message to Knicks fans after his diagnosis in December.
In six postseason games this season, Robinson has averaged 2.8 points and 6.8 rebounds across 19.2 minutes per game.
The 26-year-old has not been much of a factor offensively. But he more than makes up for it on defense as a sturdy rim protector. Despite playing limited minutes, Robinson led the Knicks in both steals (1.2) and blocks (1.4) per game during their first-round series against the Philadelphia 76ers.
