Old Markieff Morris comment blows up in his face after loss to Hawks
A comment from earlier this season came back to haunt Markieff Morris after the Washington Wizards lost to the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night.
Earlier this month, the Wizards defeated the Hawks 131-117. Washington did not have John Wall or Jeff Green available for that game. Afterward, Morris took a shot at the Hawks, saying Washington didn’t need those players to beat Atlanta.
When Morris was asked if it's a confident booster for the #Wizards to win w/o Wall and Green, he replied:
"Somewhat but like I said no disrespect to the Hawks but I don’t think we need John or Jeff to beat them.”

The two teams met again on Tuesday. Wall and Green were active. However, the result was not what Morris and Wizards fans probably expected. This time around, the Hawks won 118-110 with seven players scoring in double-digits.
Markieff Morris is certainly not shy about providing bulletin-board material through the media. Sometimes it comes back to you haunt you. Shooters keep shooting and Morris will no doubt continue to provide sound bites.
