Pascal Siakam appears to have injured himself with flagrant foul on Joel Embiid

Pascal Siakam trip Joel Embiid

Pascal Siakam is in danger of missing Game 4 against the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday with a right calf contusion, and it is no surprise the Toronto Raptors big man is claiming he is unsure of when the injury occurred.

The right calf that is bothering Siakam is the same one that Joel Embiid slammed into when Siakam stuck his leg out and tripped the 76ers star during Game 3 on Thursday night. Officials reviewed the play and gave Siakam a flagrant 1 foul. Siakam told reporters on Saturday that he doesn’t know how he hurt his calf.

Siakam has played a big role for the Raptors this year. He averaged 16.9 points and 6.9 rebounds per game during the regular season and has been even better in the playoffs, averaging 22.9 points and 7.4 rebounds.

There are plenty of ways a basketball player could injure a calf, but the fact that Siakam is claiming he does not know when his injury took place sounds a bit suspicious. We’ve already seen a number of dirty plays during the Raptors-Sixers series, and it sure seems like the one Siakam committed is going to cost him more than anyone.
