Pat McAfee took a not-so-subtle shot at Chauncey Billups during this week’s episode of “College GameDay.”
The outspoken ESPN host was analyzing the list of teams that could potentially secure a slot in the College Football Playoff. The graphic on the video board was labeled “College Football Playoff Contenders” with a note underneath that read, “All with 2% chance or higher to reach CFP.”
McAfee poked fun at the low-percentage odds, comparing them to the kind of long shot bets players were allegedly making at Billups’ poker games.
“Not a lot of people are betting on 2% chances, unless you’re Chauncey Billups at a Chauncey Billups poker game,” McAfee joked, much to the delight of his co-panelists.
“He was making some big bets allegedly on things that were just not likely. Everybody kind of knew they were rigged games.”

McAfee made sure to slip that “allegedly” in there to shield himself from any legal backlash, if Billups were to be cleared without fault.
The FBI arrested Billups on Thursday in connection with his alleged ties to an illegal poker game operation that the authorities suspected was rigged. The operation would lure unsuspecting “fish” into poker games with professional athletes.
The unorthodox tactics used to cheat said “fish” sounded like they were taken straight out of a Hollywood spy movie.
