Paul George’s target date for 76ers debut revealed
Philadelphia 76ers fans anticipating Paul George’s debut this season won’t have to wait much longer.
George is slated to make his season debut during the 76ers’ Monday contest against the Phoenix Suns, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

The nine-time All-Star has yet to play this season after suffering a bruised knee during a preseason game against the Atlanta Hawks. Considering how serious George’s injury looked at first glance, having him return after just five games missed would be a huge win.
George’s return could not be coming at a better time. The 76ers have sputtered out the gate with both George and Joel Embiid on the sidelines. The team has gone 1-4 over the first two weeks of the 2024-25 campaign.
Embiid has also generated a handful of negative headlines. The 76ers’ franchise center on Sunday got into a physical altercation with a reporter after the team’s loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. The latest update on Embiid’s knee was not exactly encouraging either.
Philly’s move to sign George in the offseason was lauded by many for raising the team’s ceiling. But even with George finally on the mend, the 76ers probably won’t be going very far in the postseason without a locked-in and healthy Embiid.
