Joe Ingles definitely does not look like your average NBA star, and apparently opposing coaches think the same thing as well.
Speaking Monday before their game against the Utah Jazz, Detroit Pistons coach Dwane Casey gave some thoughts on the sharpshooting Jazz forward.
“He looks like he’s slow, can’t move, and has a bartender-type look,” joked Casey, according to Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune. “But he’s a legit star in our league.”
Despite his unassuming appearance, Ingles is one of Utah’s most important players. His ability to do a bit of everything is reflected in his season averages of 10.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game on 40.9 percent from deep. Ingles has also been particularly valuable to the Jazz the last few weeks with the injury to guard Mike Conley shifting him into the starting lineup.
The 32-year-old Australian is also one heck of a trash talker, and the list of reasons to love him just continues to grow.
