Pistons reportedly hiring Dwane Casey as head coach
The Detroit Pistons have their new head coach.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Pistons have hired former Toronto Raptors coach Dwane Casey to fill the same position in Detroit, and will give him a five-year contract.
Dwane Casey has reached an agreement on a 5-year deal to become the next coach of the Detroit Pistons, league sources tell ESPN.

We had heard for a while that Casey appeared to be the frontrunner. He won 50 games for the Raptors in three consecutive seasons, including a 59-win season in 2017-18. A lack of playoff success led Toronto to go in a different direction, but the Pistons are just trying to consistently get there and will hope that Toronto’s loss proves to be their gain.
Next up for Detroit will be a GM hire, where some reportedly believe a former player has the inside track.
